Still Swinging

From Bloomer Girls to professional baseball players, the history of women in sports before the landmark 1972 Title IX ruling fifty years ago has largely been left out of history and forgotten. Despite societal pressures to maintain their femininity at all costs, women athletes competed at high levels in numerous sports. From local to national, this exhibit highlights the forgotten history of women athletes and their struggles which are still being fought today.
